Post the demise of Shri Chetan Chauhan, BVCI had gone dormant; without his leadership, there was a certain lack in the organisation’s running, and it had to be filled soon.

Luckily, Shri Nitin Gadkari took over as the board’s acting president. Shri Nitin Gadkari has been a prolific politician from the Bhartiya Janta Party. Hailing the party from the Nagpur front, Shri Gadkari Ji has many feathers adorning his cap in state and national legislation. He had served as State President for Bhartiya Janta Party (Maharashtra) as well as the national president of Bhartiya Janta Party in a time when leadership was of utmost importance.

His presiding offices are a list in itself. In Maharashtra, Shri Gadkari Ji has served as leader of the opposition, member of the legislative council, Cabinet Minister, and the Minister of the Public Works Department. In the union ministry, Shri Gadkari Ji has served as Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Minister of Shipping, and Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. He currently serves as the Minister of Road Transport and Highways under the Narendra Modi government. BVCI feels highly grateful and welcomes him as our chairperson in hopes that the board will see an exponential rise in the coming future.
